Biography

Some of her most memorable experiences include walking along the Great Wall of China, hiking Angel’s Landing in Utah, conquering the steep Manitou Incline in Colorado, and discovering the vibrant Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market in Thailand. She delights in experiencing new cultures through their food and rarely passes up the chance to try something exciting and unfamiliar.

A lifelong book lover, Pang finds reading to be a source of insight, comfort, and inspiration. Among her most cherished reads are The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down by Anne Fadiman—a profound exploration of culture, medicine, and the human experience—and The Latehomecomer by Kao Kalia Yang, whose storytelling of the Hmong American journey resonates deeply with her. Both works have shaped the way she sees the world and the people in it.

When it comes to children’s literature, Pang is inspired by authors such as Mo Willems and Kevin Henkes, whose imaginative, engaging stories for young readers carry meaningful messages that spark curiosity, empathy, and joy. Whether reading on her own or sharing a story with her children, books remain an essential and treasured part of her everyday life.
